John Ray Shelton (1946-1994)

John Ray Shelton, age 48, and Nadine Shaw Shelton, age 32, were killed in an airplane crash near Tooele, Utah on December 18, 1994.

John was born July 4, 1946 in Rexburg, Idaho to Lorin and LaVina Blunck Shelton. Nadine was born on March 5, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Dennis and Marcine Lauchnor Shaw.John and Nadine were married on September 17, 1988 and resided in Salt Lake City. They leave behind two beautiful children, John Alexander and Amanda Pauline.
 
Nadine is survived by her parents, Marcine and James D. Shaw of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Norman of Alpine, Utah. Nadine had one nephew, Matthew, whom she dearly loved.
 
John is survived by his beloved children, Scott, and his wife, Kim Shelton; Natalie and Nicole Shelton from a prior marriage. Also surviving are his father, Lorin Shelton of Salt Lake City; brothers, Michael Shelton of Mesa, Arizona; and Bob Shelton of Salt Lake City; and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his mother, LaVina Blunck Shelton on February 8, 1989.
 
John graduated from Olympus High School and attended Dixie College and the University of Utah. John was the founding owner of Pehrson's Power Equipment in Midvale.  Nadine graduated from Olympus High School and greatly assisted John in running the business.
 
They were dearly loved by many friends and will be missed by all.
 
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Friday, December 23, 1994 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
