Jay Tugaw  (1946-2005)

Tenacious to the end, Jay R. Tugaw held his last rodeo on Sept. 29, 2005. Jay is survived by three children Brittney, Heather, and Jason; two grandchildren Sierra and McKayla; his mother, Muriel; brothers Ed (Cindy) and Bill (Bobbi); sister, Tanya (Lowrey); and dear friend and former wife, Karen. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Edward A. Tugaw.

Jay is a graduate of University of Denver and attended Olympus HS. He lived life with the motto "Luck is when opportunity meets preparation" and he was able to prepare family and friends for those opportunities.

Being a driven businessman, he was one of the original investors of Telluride Colorado when it began as a resort-destination. He was a branch manager and Vice President for Valley Bank and Trust and member of the South Salt Lake Rotary Club. He most recently worked for Alpine Securities as a stockbroker.

Jay was a lover of westerns and tried to live life by those ideals. He was a man who believed that your word was your honor. He enjoyed "the good life" and liked to travel. He was always there to help out a friend.
