Joy Heugly (1946 - 2007)

Joy Ellen Heugly, age 60, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Thursday, January 18, 2007. Joy was born January 26, 1946, the
daughter of David LaVar and Daisy Milne Heugly.

She had a happy childhood on the family farm at East Millcreek. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in education at the University of Utah and a Masters Degree in Education. She taught the 4th and 5th grades at elementary schools in Kearns, Utah and at Holladay Elementary and Morningside Elementary. Joy dedicated her life to the children she taught. She enjoyed gardening and took pride in her home. She loved animals, especially her dogs and birds.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She loved genealogy and served a mission at the LDS family history center. Helping others search their family history gave her great satisfaction. She was responsible for submitting hundreds of names of her own ancestry.

Joy loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She was involved in her nieces and nephews lives and was a positive role model for them.

She is survived by her four brothers who loved and respected her; Wayne L. (Ginger) Heugly, Holladay, Utah, Ross M. (Jody) Heugly, Murray Utah, Leo G. (Kara) Heugly, Price, Utah and Dale M. (Carol) Heugly, Logan, Utah. The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain hospice for the assistance and help in taking care of Joy.
