Michael Terry (1968-1995)

Michael B. Terry, age 48, died Saturday, April 22, 1995 after a short illness.

He was born August 9, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wendell and Beverly Terry. He married his eternal companion, Judy Beckstrand on December 18, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mike was active in his church. He served as Bishop of the Alpine 8th Ward and also in the Alpine Stake Presidency. Mike loved spending time with his family and took special pride in each of his children. They always came first. He loved to support them in their many accomplishments. At a moment's notice, he would drop anything to pitch a ball, shoot hoops, or play the piano while his family sang. Mike was always a teacher. He prepared his children and those around him for life. He especially enjoyed coaching and working with young people. His unique sense of humor, and competitive, fun-loving wit, touched the lives of many.He is survived by his wife, Judy, and their children, Angie and McKay McGrath, Matt, Jason, Natalie, Lisa, and Brian, and by his grandchildren, Madisen and Savannah. He is also survived by his mother, Beverly, and his sisters, Marcia Plothow, Susan Terry, and Chris Durfey. Mike's father, Wendell Terry, passed on before him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26th, 1995 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alpine Stake Center, 98 E. Canyon Crest Rd., Alpine, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Stake Center on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. Friends and relatives are also invited to call from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. before the services on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery under direction of Wing Mortuary.

Mike, you have left a legacy of love, understanding, and quiet strength in all of us. We will miss you loyal friendship and guidance. Your memory will always be with us. We love you very much.
