After my fine 4 years teaching at Olympus High I moved to Sacramento and was the chair of the Sociology Dept. for 8 years. I also revived the Asian history program , initiated black Studies, Asian, Chicano programs. Sponsored unpopular clubs including gay student Union before leaving. Was threatened by Nazi org. but never gave ground on my commitments to equality for all. Became a rehab counselor at a center and director of vocational training in Hood River Or. Moved to Eugene 1978 founded Verk Consultants to provide rehab in the private sector and grew to 8 offices statewide with 55 employees. Closed the business in 2009 and now enjoy my life in retirement. Volunteer bar tender at the Jazz Station, a private not for profit family club in Eugene. Have seen many parts of the world that I taught about and will continue with a trip to Alaska in August.
Way to many to list. New Zealand would head the list and recently enjoyed Thailand and Japan. People of the world are beautiful.
Enjoyed my 4 years at Olympus and missed the high academic student levels when I taught at the community college. The class of 64 was the one of four that I remember best. I moved away in 65.
