Michael Mower

Michael Mower (1945 ~ 2023)

Michael Eugene Mower, our "Pops" and our "Papa" jioned his eternal companion on July 10, 2023.  Michael was born on December 20, 1945 in Logan, Utah to Leo LaDean and Mildred Allred Mower.  He was the oldest of two boys.  He was a graduate of Olympus High School.  He served and LDS mission to Australia.  Her served in the Utah National Guard.  Michael was a graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in computer science.  He married his sweetheart on November 27, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple.

When he was first married and all through college, he worked at Lynn Wilson canning beans.  He also worked for the LDS Church and retired from the State of Utah after 30 years.  He worked hard at home and in his yard and garden.  He had the most perfectly painted walls.  He was a perfectionist.

In 1981, Michael moved his family to Juneau, Alaska.  Alaska was an adventure he talked about often and remembered fondly.  He and his family were only there for one year, but it left an impression on them all.

Michael enjoyed life!  He was a proud member of the "The Cotton Bottom Gang" with friends from work, who continue to get together once a month for hamburgers.  He loved to go fishing!  He took his family oncross-country trips in the station wagon and the big blue van any change he could get.  He enjoyed traveling to other countries.  He was able to visit Sweden (his motherland), Argentina, all over Europe (he even drove on the Autobahn in Germany), all throughout the United States and Canada, and lastly, but certainly one of his favorites - Cancun, Mexico.

Our Papa left us with such fun memories and was loved by all.  There was nothing sweeter to hear when walked through the door to see him than "Well, Hi-ya", or for him to say "I love you, too" when you told him you loved him.  He expected a lot from his children, and they tried hard not to disappoint.  He loved cowboy movies and old country music, but enjoyed Neil Diamon and Elvis, because when you live with his sweetheart and that is what she loves, you love it too.  He had a unique sense of humor and was quick to make a joke and giggle to himself.

Michael is survived by his children Kimberly, Mayumi (Steve), Leslie (Samuel), Nicholas (Staci), and Kerry (Ciara).  He is also survived by his dear brother, Vaughn (Evelyn) as well as his eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Special thanks to the staff at Sagewood at Daybreak, who became family to him and to the family over the last few years.  Much gratitude for their love, support, and amazing care, not to mention endless amounts of ice cream!
